Ahoy, friends!
It’s me, Edgar, the storyteller.
It’s been a while since I’ve told you a story, as my makers have been quite busy lately. Just the regular stuff: running around the world to talk about me and creating awesome brand stories – for you.
But now, get a cup of coffee, sit down and enjoy my tales of the last months.
The Edgar Team United
Let’s start with the Edgar Team Meetup in the beginning of September. Oh, boy, did we have fun.
As we are a truly international bunch, a distributed one, if you fancy the term, we just love it when we all get together in one place. So Ljubljana, Sofia and Vienna gathered in Maribor for a weekend of pure Edgarness. Yeah, it’s synonymous with awesomeness. Imagine Maruša’s delicious hot apple pie and THE dinner with a view (pour wine on that) and you have a rainy weekend full of sunshine.
Besides all the jokes and joys, we got a lot of work done too. We talked about all things Edgar: our vision and mission, our tools and the great story kits we are able to offer to brands now.

Video in the making
And we even managed to craft an Edgar video! (You will be lucky to get your hands on the extended version. It’s hilarious.)
The travelling and pitching digest

Guess where Damjan likes to get his beer in Sofia… yes.
Just after that, Damjan, our chief storyteller and after-hours superhero under cover, hopped on a plane with the Bulgarian part of the crew, Mila and Ralitsa, for a crazy week in Sofia. As he had to catch up with many partners and friends, he had many craft beers at Kanaal and one mojito at the .

Home sweet home
Oops, I mean, he had many productive meetings at Eleven. Both statements are true!

The Edgar stand in Istanbul
It was not long before he set out on another journey at the end of September. This time to Turkey’s crème de la crème startup event, StartupIstanbul. Besides hanging out with great guys like Etohum and Silicon Oasis, he also pitched at the final startup challenge in front of, well, , and .
Next came Vienna in the middle of October. Damjan kept busy running between meetings with clients, partners and investors, as well as having fun with our lovely . But he did not forget to drink yet another Viennese coffee!

In Abu Dhabi
Soon after, he headed to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for an intensive week of meetings with potential clients and partners, including Silicon Oasis and Media City. He almost froze to death there… inside the hotel, of course.

Coffee in Dubai
Keeping it busy
This week the brave storyteller Damjan and the almighty tech master Marko were in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, for the COINVEST Venture Days where they were pitching about Edgar. Yes, about me, as usual! The Venture Days hosted the Pacinno Tech Investment Conference and the Balkan Venture Forum, which meant a lot of great startups and a rich list of international investors. And guess what – Edgar won the first place among 30 other startups!

Damjan and Marko in Nova Gorica
Next on the list is the great SEMPL event in Portorož, Slovenia, where Damjan will be a part of the panel “The Art of Storytelling.” You can tell we dig storytelling, right… Not only that – as we are a partner of the event, the Edgar StoryFeed is in full power managing the social media feed of Sempl. Check out Sempl’s Buzz!
And of course, while Damjan is on the quest to tell the world about me, the rest of the team is working hard behind the scenes. Maruša, Marko, Mateja and Žiga have been busy in the Vetrinjski Dvor office in Maribor, crafting the Edgar tools and serving our lovely clients, while Mila and Ralitsa are all up in storytelling and social media in Sofia.
What’s ahead
What’s ahead of Edgar, the storyteller? Well, definitely a cup of afternoon tea.
But most importantly – a hopefully successful ending of the current seed round that my makers started in September. If luck is on our side, I’ll soon be boasting a bigger financial backing that will allow the Edgar team to go wild with the master plan.
This means the creation of the StoryHub, the awesome back end SaaS tool, which puts all marketing tools and materials of brands in one place. Also, development of the StoryFeed, the social media feed that everybody loves already, and the StoryMarket, the much-expected platform that enables great brands to hire great creatives. All in all: full-blown scaling ahead.
Do you want to help Damjan and the Edgars make it? Maybe you know this great VC who is interested in just our type of startups? Connecting us would be awesome. Thanks! <3
